Who Are We?

Bethlehem Walk is a community ministry of Mountain View United Methodist Church.

For the past 30 years we have given this gift to the community. This ministry strives to share the news of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ and the good news of his gift of grace and salvation to the world. Through the re-enactment of the city of Bethlehem on the night of his birth, we bring to life the sights, sounds and smells of the time.  Members of Mountain View UMC, other churches and synagogues, home school families,  youth groups like Scouts, and more help fill the multitude of roles for the four performances.

Each presentation takes 28-35 shopkeepers, 8-10 Roman Soldiers, 6-8 cider servers, 8-10 parking crew, 6-8 kitchen helpers, 12-15 greeters, guides, and prayer partners and 5-8 costume and make-up helpers to make the city come alive for the weary travelers who crowd the streets to pay their taxes, to sign the census and to visit the storyteller as he shares the old stories and the rabbi who retells the tale of the Maccabees and the miracle of the lamp oil.
